What is Connect4Families?

Connect4Families and Connect4Youth are free school holiday activities funded by the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF).

Since 2019, we have provided fun free and engaging activities to families and teenagers who receive benefit related free school meals across the Leigh Park and Havant area in the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays. Every family fun day event includes crafts, sports, cooking and a specialist to really engage children and enable them to develop their creativity and motor skills.

We are pleased to be able to support families throughout the school holidays as we understand that for some people these are some of the toughest times of the year. We believe that all families deserve to have quality family time without stretching their budget throughout the school holidays.

In line with Park Community Schools ethos of "finding what you love", teens aged between 11-16 are also given an opportunity to independently explore various exciting activities, develop their skills and increase their confidence.

As well as activities we also provide free healthy and nutritious meals to everyone who attends the Connect4Families programme with delicious menus developed by our award-winning catering team.

Our ambitions:

  • Provide engaging and fun activities for both families and teens.
  • Be able to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community throughout the school holidays.
  • We aim to support healthy lifestyles and well-being across Hampshire.
  • To be a place where the local community can feel safe and supported.

What is the HAF Programme?

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme is funded by the Department for Education to provide free engaging activities and nutritious meals to children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) during the school holidays who would normally receive benefit-related free school meal (FSM). Hampshire County Council delivers Hampshire HAF through the connect4communities programme to all school-aged in receipt of benefits-related FSM who live, or go to school, in areas of Hampshire serviced by Hampshire County Council (this excludes the unitary authorities of Portsmouth and Southampton).

What is Connect4Youth?

In line with Park Community Schools ethos of "finding what you love", teens aged between 11-16 are also given an opportunity to independently explore various exciting activities, develop their skills and increase their confidence.
